Three fishermen injured as boat capsizes in sea off TN coast

VILLUPURAM: Three fishermen suffered injuries when a fibre boat capsized in sea off Ekkiyarkuppam fishing hamlet in Tamil Nadu’s VIllupuram district on Friday due to rough sea conditions.
The injured have been identified as Sundar, 24, Sudhakar, 26 and Ramesh, 44, all three are from Ekkiyarkuppam village.
On Friday morning, the fishermen ventured into the sea in a fibre boat owned by Sundar. The boat capsized when they were 500 metre off from the shore.
The fishermen were rescued by a few other local fishermen and were rushed to a private hospital in Kalapet.
Police officials retrieved the capsized boat. They advised fishermen to avoid fishing when the sea is rough.
