Arunachal Pradesh Government will recognize the State Transport Department’s staffs those who are engaged in the transportation of Arunachalees returning to the state as COVID-19 Frontline Workers. Secretary, State Disaster Management and Transport Dani Sulu said that the buses are ferrying returnees to the state from the check-point to their designated quarantine centres.

The employees like Drivers and Conductors, are in threat of getting infected with COVID-19 as they are involved in ferrying these returnees, anyone of whom can be a carrier of the virus. He said that all the protective equipment and gears have been provided to these workers.

Mr. Sulu who is also the Secretary of State Disaster Management, informed that the Department is ensuring that sufficient funds are available with the Deputy Commissioners in the state so that they can handle any kind of situation that arises due to COVID-19 pandemic.
