Karnataka: No health screening at district checkposts

Transport agencies will screen passengers for Covid symptoms before the start of journey
BENGALURU: Easing the curbs on inter-district travel, the Karnataka government on Thursday announced that there will be no inter-district checkposts for health screening.
Any health screening for passengers travelling by mass transport like buses and trains will be done at the origin of the journey. Only those without symptoms of Covid-19 will be allowed to travel.
"Those who have symptoms will be taken to a fever clinic for further examination. The agencies like railways, private bus operators, KSRTC and others have to strictly screen the passengers before the start of journey. There will be no health screening of passengers travelling by private vehicles across districts in Karnataka," said Pankaj Kumar Pandey, commissioner, health and family welfare department.
