Share market update: IT shares in the green; NIIT Tech jumps 7%

NEW DELHI: IT shares were trading in the green in Friday's session.

Shares of NIIT Technologies (up 7.98 per cent) , Infosys (up 2.97 per cent) , Mindtree (up 2.1 per cent) , Just Dial (up 1.02 per cent) , Tata Consultancy (up 0.72 per cent) and Tech Mahindra (up 0.61 per cent) were among the top gainers.


The Nifty IT index was trading 1.27 per cent up at 13821.5 around 11:52AM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 83.55 points at 9022.7, while the BSE Sensex was down 281.98 points at 30650.92.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 13 were trading in the green, while 36 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, SBI, ICICI Bank, Bank of Baroda, Axis Bank, BHEL, ITC, IDFC First Bank Ltd., RBL Bank Ltd. and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
