Major incident declared
Merseyside Fire Service has described it as a “major incident” and said 20 fire engines are now at the scene.

Statement from fire service
A total of 15 fire engines are now at the scene of the fire.
A spokesperson from Merseyside Fire and Rescue, said: “Further fire engines have been requested to attend the incident, taking the total number of fire engines in attendance to 15.
“The high volume pump has also been requested, as has the incident command unit.
“The fire has been sectorised. Firefighters are using two main branches, a compressed air foam branch and a high pressure hose reel jet.
