NEW DELHI: Shares of PSU banks were trading with gains in Wednesday's session.

Shares of J & K Bank (up 1.63 per cent) , Punjab & Sind Bank (up 1.55 per cent) , Canara Bank (up 1.44 per cent) , State Bank of India (up 1.15 per cent) , Bank of Baroda (up 0.96 per cent) , Bank of India (up 0.8 per cent) , Indian Bank (up 0.78 per cent) , Union Bank of India (up 0.66 per cent) and Punjab National Bank (up 0.38 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 0.83 per cent up at 1096.2 around 02:24PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 157.05 points at 9036.15, while the BSE Sensex was up 510.28 points at 30706.45.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 44 were trading in the green, while 6 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Tata Power, Alok Industries, SBI, BHEL, Adani Power, ICICI Bank, Bharti Airtel, Tata Motors and Axis Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Bharti Airtel hit their fresh 52-week high in today's trade, while Indiabulls Ventures, Havells India, ABB India, TI Financial Holdings, PNB, Union Bank India, Bank of Baroda and SBI hit fresh 52-week low in trade. Traders were seen piling up positions in General, Agro Processing, Telecommunications, Pharmaceuticals, Retail, InvIT, FMCG, Fertilisers, IT Software and Hospitals & Allied Services sectors. However, selling were visible in Sugar, NBFC, Banks, Real Estate, Mining, Miscellaneous, Holding Company, Term Lending Institutions, Construction and Auto Ancillaries sectors.
