SPPU senate member intervenes in students' issues posted on Twitter

NASHIK: Students of city-based colleges had complained on social media about teachers taking internal examinations before finalising their results for first year, second year, third year and final year examinations. The students who had made the complaint on Twitter had tagged Aditya Thackeray, state environment minister, who took the matter in is hands and asked the local senate members to look into the matter.
Amit Patil, senate member, Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), told TOI, "The students had tagged Aditya Thackeray who gave me a call asking me to see if such practice is taking place in city colleges affiliated with the SPPU. I immediately spoke with the principal of the concerned college of engineering who assured me that his teachers will refrain from asking students giving online internal examinations if such practice is being undertaken in his college."
As per the decision by the state level committee for examinations formed by state governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, the colleges are supposed to prepare the results of all the even semesters other than the final semester. They are not supposed to conduct the examinations through online methods, he added.
"The principal of the concerned college told me that all the head of the departments have been informed not to conduct any sort of examinations as the students who are not able to appear for them due to any reason start panicking," he added.
He also said that the technology has brought the world closer so that the students can directly get in touch with the authorities and get their issues resolved. The authorities can also make their responses public to ensure clarity among students and institutions.
