Tragedy as baby girl, 20 months, dies after being struck by a car in the driveway of a family home

  • Police were called to Corowa, southern NSW, at about 5pm on Wednesday
  • The driver, a 74-year-old man, was tested in hospital and helped with inquiries 

A 20-month-old girl has died after being struck by a 4WD in the driveway of a family home.

Emergency services were called to Corowa, about 60km west of Albury on the border between New South Wales and Victoria, at about 5pm on Wednesday. 

NSW Police said the girl was hit by a Toyota Hilux 4WD in the driveway of a home on Enfield Street.

The baby girl died at the scene. 

A 74-year-old man, who was behind the wheel of the 4WD, was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

He was then taken to Corowa Police Station to assist police with inquiries but has since been released.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
