Stalin holds a videoconference with party workers and members of CSOs on TuesdayCHENNAI: As part of its ‘Ondrinaivom Vaa’ initiative, DMK served more than 28.7 lakh cooked meals to the needy in different parts of Tamil Nadu in the last 19 days.
The party served food through a network of local DMK leaders, 73 kitchen partners and 239 grassroot feeding partners. While preparing and serving the food, they maintained complete compliance with the lockdown norms, the party said in a statement.
DMK has distributed cooked meals to 95,000 people in Tiruvallur, 93,300 people in Kancheepuram and 92,350 people in Chennai. People in many other cities and towns were also served food.
On Tuesday, DMK president M K Stalin reviewed ‘Ondrinaivom Vaa’ activities with party functionaries and members of the civil society organisations (CSOs). He held a videoconference with members from various CSOs who worked as part of the feed the poor initiative.
The CSOs thanked Stalin and DMK for giving them an opportunity to create a large-scale impact and also shared their experiences in distributing food to the needy.
