Railways announcement of operating trains from June 1 brings sigh of relief for residents in UP districts

PRAYAGRAJ: At a time when near and dear ones of people living in cities like Prayagraj, Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi and Gorakhpur are waiting to come back to their homes, the announcement of railway ministry, to start operating 200 trains from June 1, brings a sigh of relief.
Trains like Prayagraj express, Lucknow mail, Gomti express, Shivganga express, Shram Shakti express etc would start plying from June 1.
A day after making the announcement that the railways would start plying 200 mail and express trains on various routes from June 1, the railway board has released the list of trains that would start operating.
According to chief public relation officer (CPRO), NCR, the list includes some of the important trains of the different zones of the railways connecting all the important stations. This also includes some of the important trains coming or passing through Prayagraj, Varanasi, Kanpur and even Lucknow.
In the list there are couple of trains that would be operated from Prayagraj or the one which would pass through the city and connecting different cities. Some of the important trains include New Delhi-Prayagraj, Prayagraj Express which will run daily. Apart from this, some of the important trains that would pass through Prayagraj Junction include Darbhanga Express for Lokmanya Tilak Terminal, Sanghamitra Express connecting Bengaluru, Purushottam express passing through Allahabad and Kanpur connecting Puri. Howrah-Mumbai mail, passing through Prayagraj Choeki station, which connects Howrah to Mumbai, Brahmaputra mail and Danapur- Secunderabad express.
Likewise, some of the trains connecting New Delhi and Lucknow would also start operating from June 1. This include Gomti Express and Lucknow mail.
The tri-weekly Mahamana Express from Varanasi to New Delhi and the daily train New Delhi-Varanasi Shiv Ganga Express will also start operating.
The popular train between Kanpur and Delhi, Shram Shakti express is also among the list.
The list includes some of the other important trains including Five Duronto Express that would start operating but all of these would be non AC trains. There will be 17 Jan Shatabdi trains starting from June 1.
The board has made it clear that the timing will be as per the regular schedule and stoppages and frequency will also be the same as that of the regular trains.
