Domestic airlines will start restart operations in a calibrated manner from May 25, Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri announced on Twitter.
“All airports and air carriers are being informed to be ready for operations from May 25. Standard operating procedures for passenger movement are also being separately issued by the Ministry of Civil Aviation,” the minister said.
Under the current lockdown guidelines under 4.0 , all commercial flight operations are suspended in India till May 31.
At the same time, Indian carriers have started booking air tickets for domestic travel.
It may be mentioned here that comercial flights were suspended since March 25, after India announced nation-wide lockdown in a bid to mitigate the risk of spread of Coronavirus, COVID-19.
India’s Civil Aviation regulator, DGCA had on Sunday said that all commercial flights have been suspended till May 31, the end of 4.0 deadline of phase-4 of the lockdown announced by the government.
