Govt offices wil now allow 50% staff, Hry govt issues fresh guidelines

Gurgaon: The Haryana government has issued new guidelines Tuesday for government offices in all districts, increasing the limit of staff strength for group C and group D workers from 33% to 50%. Moreover, 100% staff strength is allowed in offices which have space to accommodate all employees after following social distancing norms.
However, according to the standard operating procedure (SOP) issued, thermal screening at the entrance and six-feet distance between each employee are mandatory. Also, a maximum of four persons will be be allowed in a lift at a time, and none of the offices can use central air conditioning.
All departments, boards and corporations have been directed to install e-office software and offices with 100% e-office capability can start work from home for any category of employees after a careful assessment.
The heads of departments and deputy commissioners can restructure office timings as per their assessment to ensure there is no rush at any point. Also, all employees have been asked to install the Aarogya Setu app on their mobile phones.
“In case an employee’s place of residence happens to lie within a containment zone, such employee shall not leave the containment zone until the zone declaration order has been withdrawn by the appropriate authority,” read the guidelines issued by the state.
According to the guidelines, the 50% staff limit won’t apply to the essential category departments such as chief secretary, revenue department, health, home, agriculture, public health, development and panchayats, power, irrigation, urban local bodies, medical education, information and technology, cooperation, finance, excise and taxation, information and public relations, HSVP and food and civil supplies department, which can operate with full staff strength.
