If everything goes well, the world could have a Covid-19 vaccine by end of this year or early 2021. A vaccine has been tested on 8 human volunteers in the US and it has found to be effective as well as safe for use. The antibodies developed in the volunteers in response to the vaccine were effective in stopping the virus from replicating. In fact, The levels of the neutralising antibodies matched the levels found in Covid-19 patients who had recovered. Further two rounds of testing will have to be done before mass production of the vaccine can begin.
