Manali-Leh National Highway was reopened on May 19 for traffic by BRO. The Manali-Leh Highway is open for only a few months each year and was closed in November last year. It is challenging for the BRO to keep the highway open in all weathers and difficult situations. Deepak Project Chief Engineer said, “We expected to open it a little earlier but the western disturbance troubled us and therefore the delay happened. Initially the traffic will be one-way but the kind of traffic will be decided keeping in mind the MHA guidelines by the civil administration.”
