I was pleasantly surprised yesterday. I expected to see the return of an old friend to the Toyota lineup during Toyota’s Spring Showcase announcement. Yes, the return of Venza. And the incredible 2021 Sienna reveal.

What I saw was that and so much more. Today I would like to explore some frequently asked questions about the imminent return of 2021 Toyota Venza.

Q: Will Venza be similar to the Venza of old we remember?

A: Venza is making its return after a six-year layoff. This newest entry is built using the TNGA-K platform. It utilizes high-strength steel and multi-link suspension to give drivers a smooth and agile ride.

Other benefits of using TNGA-K are a spacious and comfortable interior, along with one of the quietest rides any Toyota model has ever had.

Did I also mention this vehicle is absolutely gorgeous? I want one. I must replace my Camry lease at the beginning of next year. To-date, my short list consists of another Camry, an Avalon and a 4Runner. Now the Venza has immediately joined the pack.

Q: So, this is a hybrid?

A: Yes. 2021 Toyota Venza is available only in hybrid form. It is only available as an all-wheel drive as well.

One main reason to anticipate 2021 Venza release date is for the gas mileage. Expect up to 40 MPG combined on at least the LE trim level. I might speculate we will see a slight decrease of this projection in higher trim levels due to more standard equipment and heavier weights.

For all practical purposes, we have an SUV (of sorts) that rides like a sedan and gets 40 MPG. This gets me fired up!

Q: Speaking of trims, what configurations can we expect?

A: Venza configurations consist of LE, XLE and Limited grades. This philosophy falls in line nicely with several of Toyota’s most popular models.

Buyers should have an easier time learning trim levels they are already familiar with.

Q: What about 2021 Venza performance?

A: I was pleased to learn Toyota Venza produces 219 horsepower. This is identical to wildly popular 2020 RAV4 Hybrid models.

2021 Venza is powered by the combination of a 2.5-liter DOHC 4-cylinder engine and three electric motors. Low-end torque will be a strength.

Q: But is this Venza an SUV or what?

A: Great question. Venza is classified as a CUV (Compact Utility Vehicle). It will have two rows and seat five passengers comfortably.

Look for Venza to enter the market between RAV4 and Highlander in size.

Cargo space will be good. Cargo capacity is 36.3 cubic feet behind the second row. This figure is slightly less than RAV4, which offers around 37.5 cubic feet behind the second row.

Q: What else can you say to get us excited for 2021 Venza?

A: Look for new technology, safety and convenience offerings to pump you up.

Venza comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 (TSS 2.0) and blind spot monitor on all trim levels. These will help limit distractions and prevent accidents.

Technology highlights include available 12.3-inch multimedia screens, the most powerful Toyota JBL sound system ever, digital rear-view mirror and 10-inch color head-up display.

Star Gaze fixed panoramic glass roof is a buzzword you will hear over and over as we get closer to 2021 Toyota Venza launch. It has two settings – Transparent and Frosted. You can look out normally or you can frost the glass within one second. This way, it reduces the sun’s glare on you and protects from some UV rays.
