Five Russian minors booked for defying lockdown norms

Pernem police have booked five Russian nationals, all minor in age, for creating nuisance and defying lockdown norms at Ashwem in Pernem taluka.

According to Pernem police, they received information about five Russians having a party on Sunday evening at around 7.20 pm, following which a team led by PSI Vivek Halarnkar rushed to the spot and detained the Russians, who were found consuming alcohol. They were also said to be not wearing mask.

During the course of investigation, it was learnt that all five detained, including two girls, are aged between 14-16 years. They are said to be residing with their families at Arambol, Mandrem and Siolim.

Police informed that these minors had travelled to Goa prior to implementation of lockdown and are stranded since then.

All of them were booked on the basis of state complaint filed by PSI Vivek Halarnkar under sections 188, 269, 290 read with 34 of Indian Penal Code.  Police informed that report of the incident has been submitted to juvenile justice board and also Russian consulate has been informed about it.

PSI Vivek Halarnkar is further investigating the case.
