Boney Kapoor's house help tests coronavirus-positive. My children and I are fine, says producer

Boney Kapoor's house help, Charan Sahu, has been tested positive for the novel coronavirus. The producer and his family are safe.

Boney Kapoor assured fans that he and his family are safe.

Boney Kapoor, in a statement to the media today, confirmed that his house help, 23-year-old Charan Sahu, has been tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Kapoor revealed that Charan was feeling unwell on Saturday evening (May 16), following which, Kapoor sent him to be tested. Charan was also immediately put in isolation at their Lokhandwala home until the test results came back.

Boney Kapoor also assured everyone that he and his children, Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor, and his other home staff are fine and that they are taking all necessary precautions.

In a statement to the press, Boney Kapoor said, “Myself, my children and the other staff at home are all fine and none of us are showing any symptoms. In fact, we haven’t left our home since the lockdown started. We are thankful to Govt of Maharashtra and BMC for their swift response. We shall be diligently following the instructions and advice given to us by BMC and their medical team. We are sure that Charan would soon recover and be back at home with us (sic).”

As per reports, once Charan's tests came back positive, Boney Kapoor intimated the building society authorities, who in turn, got in touch with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Mumbai. The BMC and the Maharashtra state government authorities have started the process of getting Charan into a quarantine centre.

Coronavirus numbers in the country are on an all-time high. As of now, there are 1,01,139 people tested positive for Covid-19 in India, with the death toll rising to 3,163.
