Tamil Nadu Class 10th exams postponed to June 15; revised schedule released
TN class 10 examinations have been postponed following widespread criticism against its decision to conduct the exams.
(Representative image) CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu on Tuesday postponed Class X board exams to June 15 following widespread criticism against its decision to conduct the exams from June 1 to 12 amid Covid-19.
As per the revised schedule, the exams would be conducted from June 15 to 25 for more than 9.5 lakh candidates.
School education minister K A Sengottaiyan said the exams are postponed due to the rising Covid-19 cases in the state.
The postponed Class XI exam would be held on June 16. The re-exam for absentees of Class XII final exam will be conducted on June 18.
The exams would be conducted in more than 12,000 higher secondary and secondary schools.
As per the new schedule, class X Language paper will be conducted on June 15, 2020.
