Goa’s COVID tally reaches 46

The state continued to report new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19), with eight more persons testing positive for the COVID-19 pandemic on Tuesday, taking the total number of active cases in the state to 39.

Four persons, who travelled from Delhi, three others, who entered the state from Maharashtra and one person, who travelled from West Bengal have been diagnosed with the deadly virus.

All the eight new COVID positive patients have been shifted to the ESI Hospital in Margao, which is designated for treating COVID positive patients.

The Directorate of Health Services (DHS), in its media bulletin issued, stated that the condition of all the patients is ‘stable’.

Till date, Goa has seen 46 confirmed cases of COVID-19 of which seven patients have recovered from the disease. 

As per the DHS media bulletin, six new suspected cases of COVID-19 were reported in Goa on Tuesday. All six patients were quarantined at the Goa Medical College and Hospital at Bambolim immediately after they were found showing symptoms of the dreaded viral virus.

The DHS informed that of the 332 samples drawn for examination on Tuesday, 316 tested negative, eight tested positive, while reports of the remaining eight samples are
awaited.

The DHS, with the help of state administration and state police, has placed around 373 people under facility quarantine at various residencies and different hotels across the state.
