GURUGRAM:
MCG on Monday decided to freeze new
recruitment for one year and ban purchase of
new vehicles, luxury items following the Haryana urban local bodies department order asking all municipal corporations to limit their expenditure.
“To curb revenue expenditure in the wake of extreme resource crunch, the government has imposed a ban on purchase of new vehicles and has decided to defer all new recruitment for jobs for one year. It has further been decided to impose ban on purchase of luxury items, unnecessary domestic or foreign travel, promotional activities, including holding seminars/workshops in luxury hotels, incurring expenditure on avoidable repair works etc. unless it is very essential,” read the communication sent by the urban local bodies department to the municipal corporations.
The administrative secretaries have been told to identify areas in which expenditure could be curtailed and rationalised by adopting various measures.
