HUBBALLI: Secondary contacts of the
Covid-19 affected are being kept under
home quarantine and the administration is keeping an eye on their movement through geo-fencing, a technology that creates a virtual boundary surrounding the house of the quarantined.
If any quarantined breaches the boundary of the geo-fencing, an alarm raises in the control room. The administration sent five
quarantined people from
Navanagar area of
Hubballi to the institutional quarantine following the violation of isolation norms recorded by the geofencing technology on Tuesday.
The administration based on the feedback given by the technology visited houses of quarantined people in
Navalur area, They were also found breaching the boundary and they were warned not to come out. Since it was their first mistake the authority let them go with a warning.
All the five shifted to the institutional quarantine were from Navanagar area, the officials led by District Surveillance Officer Dr Sujata Hasavimath , Taluka Health Officer Dr Ayyangouda Patil visited the houses of the violators and shifted them to the institutional quarantine in an ambulance, said officials of the district administration.
