The Taliban said on Monday, Kashmir is an internal matter of India and we will not support Pakistan on this issue. The Taliban also rejected all the claims on social media that it could be part of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism in Kashmir.
On Sunday, Suhail Shaheen, spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, the political front of the Taliban, tweeted that reports of the Taliban joining the Pakistan-sponsored jihad in Kashmir are false. Kashmir is an internal matter of India and the Taliban does not interfere in the internal affairs of any country.
A day ago there were several such posts on social media, in which Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid was quoted saying that friendship with India was not possible till the Kashmir issue was resolved. It also claimed that the Taliban would capture Kashmir from the infidels after capturing Kabul.
India investigated
According to the diplomats stationed in Kabul and Delhi, India was engaged in verifying them from the backchannel as soon as these posts appeared. Due to which the Taliban had to issue a statement the next day and clarify. India was told that the posts on social media were fake and did not show the Taliban's side.
