If rumours are to be believed, Apple could be launching four variants of its 2020 iPhone. Multiple leaks have given us an early peek into a lineup that includes two base models and two Pro models. The latest leak surrounds the base model with the smallest 5.4-inch display.

European tech publication LetsGoDigital has published new renders of the base variant of the upcoming ‘iPhone 12’, that does give out an impression of a smaller footprint than before. We could just be looking at a compact iPhone that will sit above the newly announced iPhone SE (2020).

The renders are in line with the flat design Apple introduced with the new iPad Pro models this year, and the publication claims Apple will use an OLED display with an unknown resolution as of now. The panel also has the infamous notch which does seem to be more noticeable in the smaller dimensions. The notch also confirms the presence of FaceID and indeed, the render does not show a physical home button, ruling out fingerprint-based TouchID.

Previously, a leak had claimed the 5.4-inch iPhone 12 will come with a dual-camera setup along with 4GB RAM. As for the internals, Apple is expected to power the phone with the upcoming Apple A14 Bionic SoC.

The leaked render also confirms the presence of dual cameras housed in the square camera module at the back and a thick chassis. What could be missing is the 120Hz refresh rate offered in the Pro models and the additional camera sensor and the LiDAR sensor introduced in the iPad Pro this year.
