Pressure if all abroad brought back

THE EDITOR: As a responsible citizen, I congratulate the Government and particularly the Ministry of Health on their briefings to the population on the status of covid19 in the country. The ministers and the public officers who appear on television have the patience of Job.

Apart from having to answer repetitive questions from reporters there are also some testing questions which are political, trying to catch the ministers off guard. So far, they have not fallen into this trap.

One of the themes of covid19 is common sense. People are only concerned with themselves and not others. We have seen a lot of people living abroad wanting to come back home.

While I understand their position, the Health Ministry has to be in a position to accommodate these people. TT is a small country and does not have the resources to accommodate more than a certain amount at a time. No one is concerned about the pressure they will be putting on the health personnel.

I saw where one of the people who came from Barbados was angry with the Minister National Security for delaying their return. Everything has to be done with precision and the aim is to benefit the majority of the population, not a few.

There are those unpatriotic people who wish to see us fail, but God is on our side.

Follow the guidelines. Stay home. Be safe.
