Covid-19: Gadchiroli makes exit from green zone with three positive cases

NAGPUR: The Maoist-affected Gadchiroli finally made an exit from the green zone status with three quarantined persons testing positive at government medical college and hospital (GMCH) laboratory in Nagpur on Sunday.
The three labourers, including two tribal, had reached the district in trucks on May 15. They were shifted at the isolation ward of the Gadchiroli district hospital, said Gadchiroli district information officer Sachin Adsul.
According to Addl district health official (ADHO) Vinod Mashakhetri, the three tested were asymptomatic. “We had immediately quarantined the three along with others as soon as they had arrived in the district and did not allowed them to mingle in the society,” he said.
Two persons were from Kurkheda and another from Chamorshi ashramshala-converted-quarantine centres are the ones so far tested positive. Sources in the district said the three are in the age group of 20-24 years of age. Their samples were collected on May 16.
Around 80 persons have been quarantined at Chamorshi. Out of 80, samples of 15 have been sent for testing. Another 20 samples have been sent from Ingelkheda and Kurkheda quarantine centres. There are 17 persons kept at Ingelkheda while 41 at Kurkheda centres.
According to a health department officials, there is a likelyhood of more samples testing positive as they have a travel history from red zones like Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur.
