new Covid-19 cases were reported on Monday taking the tally to 1,090 in
Surat city.
Limbayat zone continues to report highest number of
coronavirus cases in the city. On Monday, 15 more cases were reported from this zone. Total 414 Covid-19 cases have been reported from this zone alone.
A 49-year-old resident of Umarvada area in Surat succumbed to coronavirus.
Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) officials said that he was suffering from throat cancer. Total 52 people have succumbed to Covid-19 in the city till date.
On Monday, 21 Covid-19 patients were discharged from hospitals in Surat. Till now, total 724 Covid-19 patients have been discharged so far in the city.
SMC officials say that total 3,044 people have entered into Surat city four outside the city and they have been asked to be in home quarantined compulsorily.
Meanwhile, Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) has appealed to private medical professionals to treat non-Covid-19 patients and illness and start vaccinations to children and pregnant women.
“In the wake of Covid-19 outbreak various vaccinations were suspended in the city but now we have started vaccinations to children and pregnant woman in the city from Monday. 147 children and 19 pregnant women were given vaccinations in the city on Monday,’’ Banchhanidhi Pani, Municipal Commissioner, Surat, said.
