Gurgaon: Five new
cases of Covid-19 have been reported in
Nuh in the last two days, taking the
tally in the district to 65.
A
truck driver who had recently come home tested positive on Friday, while four of his relatives tested positive the next day, health department said. All five are asymptomatic and live in Raniyala and Pakatpur villages.
Nuh chief medical officer Virender Singh said the patients have been shifted to a Covid-19 care centre at ITI Pinagwa. Nuh is the first district in Haryana to move patients to a
Covid care centre, he said. As of now, their are four such centres in the district and more are being set up. The district administration plans on having a total capacity of 2,000 beds in its care centres.
Singh said as per the latest guidelines issued by the Indian Council of Medical Research, asymptomatic patients have to be put up either at Covid care centres or in home isolation. “Since Nuh is a lesser-developed area with small houses, isolation at home will not feasible. Asymptomatic patients will hence be sent to Covid care centres. In case they show symptoms, they will be immediately shifted to
Mewat medical college,” said Singh.
Nuh at present has seven active cases, while the results of 197 more samples are awaited.
A total of 4,057 samples have been sent for testing so far, of which 65 tested positive while 3,795 tested negative. As many as 4,975 people have been put under active surveillance and 2,423 have successfully completed the surveillance period.
