Goa University cancels semester end examination

Panaji: The Goa University, vide a circular issued on Monday has informed that it would not hold Semester End Examination (SEE) for the first and second year regular students of UG programmes of BA/B Sc (including Home Science)/ B Com/ BBA/ BCA/ BSW offered at the university and its affiliated colleges for the current academic year 2019-20.

The circular issued by Goa University Registrar Y V Reddy informs about cancellation of these exams due to the ongoing corona pandemic.

Similarly, no SEE will be conducted for the first, second and third year regular students of B Sc B Ed/ BA B Ed programmes.

All these students shall be graded based on the marks scored by them in the Intra Semester Assessment (ISA) and practical examination during the current

semester.

“In those cases where practical examination of the course could not be conducted, the same will be held whenever the circumstances permit,” says the circular.

The results of such students will be declared on completion of the practical examination.

No student shall be detained from moving to the next semester. However, students who fail after applying the grading system shall have to pass the examination for the course(s) in which they have failed, whenever the examination is held next.

The GU circular also informs that the final year examination of all the above programmes and supplementary/ repeat examinations of lower semesters shall be conducted from July 1, 2020 onwards.
