Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan will make a comeback on MTV from May 23
Even before the lockdown was announced, the television industry halted shoot over concerns of safety.
While the audience has been lapping up reruns of past shows, with no work, the cast and crew are struggling to make ends meet.
On Friday, TV actor Manmeet Grewal committed suicide after struggling with dwindling finances amid lockdown. His family friend-producer Manjit Singh Rajput told PTI, βHe was going through a major financial issue and he was also in depression. The added pressure of not being able to repay loans amid this (no work phase) got to him. His wife is completely shocked and devastated.”
His untimely death has left the industry shocked and concerned.
During the lockdown, most of us have been craving for a vacation, making us revist the old times. On Wednesday, actor Debina Bonnerjee also posted a sunny picture on her Instagram from one of earlier holidays. Posing alongside husband Gurmeet Choudhary, she captioned the photo, "To colours and summer sun #throwbacktuesday."
Urvashi Dholakia, popularly known as Komolika from Kasautii Zindagii Kay, has started her own chat show on YouTube- Trending Now. In every video, she interacts with one of her actor's friends in a bid to help fans know them better.
Her recent guest was popular film and TV actor Rajeev Khandelwal. Popular youth series Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan is all set to re-air on MTV. Created by Vikas Gupta, the show stars Niti Taylor, Parth Samthaan, Krissann Baretto, Utkarsh Gupta, Zain Imam, Ayaz Ahmed, Charlie Chauhan, Kishwer Merchantt among more. The high-school drama presents the tale of a group of friends, popularly known as the FAB-5, and their roller coaster journey.
On the announcement of the show's comeback, Niti Taylor said, “In this current scenario where the ‘new normal’ has taken over, we’re all missing our loved ones, especially our friends and all the fun catch-up sessions. I believe this is the best time to relive all the old memories and give major throwbacks to all the moments of love and laughter spent with our pals. Starting May 23, Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan will air every day at 5:30 PM.
Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actor Mohsin Khan has revealed the story behind his name. The actor shared that he was earlier named Waseem as his father's name also starts with the same letter W). However, the family later decided to name him with 'M' as his mother's name is Mehzabin.
"Mohsin is an Arabic word from the Quran which means ‘the one who helps’. I would have been okay with both the names but people around me, my friends and family like Mohsin more," shared the actor.
Mohsin Khan recently completed six years in the industry and shared that his family is really proud of his achievements.
Doordarshan's Mahabharat was much loved and continues to rake in numbers during its rerun. There are a lot of actors who have been part of the epic BR Chopra show. And not many know that popular actor Sumeet Raghavan was also part of the cast as he essayed the character of adolescent Sudama.
Talking about being part of the mytho series, Sumeet shared, “I was very young when I bagged the role, and as excited as any new kid on the block. I was quite skinny at the time, probably that’s why I got the role! (laughs). We had barely shot for 3 to 4 days and I remember shooting the Sandipani Ashram portions in Film City and the rain dance sequence at Chena creek. Back then, I did not realize that I was going to be a part of history. But I do remember seeing Mukesh ji and Nitish ji on the set. They were in their prime then, and I was completely in awe of them. He also adds, “Once the episodes were aired again, there was a flurry of questions on my social media. People were taking screenshots of the episode tagging me, asking, ‘Is this you? We never knew you were a part of this epic show!’ I am happy that I got to work with such revered actors and be a part of a classic like Mahabharat.”
Bigg Boss 13 winner Sidharth Shukla posted a motivational message for his fans on Twitter. He posted, 'Don’t dare to be Different .. Dare to be Yourself n if that Doesn’t make you Different then something’s Wrong....!'
The Balika Vadhu actor had his share of criticism while locked in the house. Accused of being violent and disrespectful towards women, Shukla was even said to be the fixed winner of the season. Amid this, the team of Humari Bahu Silk has also come out to talk about the injustice towards them. The cast and crew shared that they are yet to get their remuneration for almost 90% of their service with the Zee TV show. And there has been no news regarding their pending payment from the makers. They have now appealed to the industry bodies, who assured them that they will be looking into the matter.
Bollywood actor Kriti Sanon, who is friends with the lead actor of the show (Zaan Khan), also took to Instagram to share the team's ordeal. Posting a video of one of the technicians talking about how the producers are yet to pay him, Kriti wrote, "This is terrible!! This is just one incident that i know of because a friend of mine has worked in this daily soap: Humari Bahu Silk.. But my heart breaks to see so many people suffering because they haven’t received their payments! This is the time when the daily wage earners need their hard-earned money the most!!"
She added, "I request the concerned producers to pls pay everyone their dues!! ππ»They have worked very hard for this, and its rightfully theirs! @cintaaofficial pls pls help themππ»ππ» Its a tough time we all are going through.. and i urge all employers in every field to please clear the pending payments of their employees! ππ»ππ»."
Bigg Boss 13 finalist Asim Riaz has been home in Jammu during the lockdown. On Monday, the actor posted a bright sunny picture on his Instagram account as he sat basking in the sunshine.
His lady love Himanshi Khurana's reply in the comment box made the post all the more special The Punjabi singer-actor wrote, "I will come soon." Her message got Asimanshi (as the couple is lovingly called) fans quite excited.
The popular on-screen couple Kartik and Naira from Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai celebrate their fourth anniversary today. Mohsin Khan, who plays the lead role thanked his fans for giving them so much love.

Varsha Usgaonkar who played the character of Uttara in Mahabharat has been enjoying rerun of her iconic show. The actor recently shared that it was purely coincidental that she bagged a role in the series.
Usgaonkar shared, "Mahabharat in those times was very popular. It so happened that I had guests over and they requested to watch the shoot of the show. When we visited the sets of Mahabharat, they were shooting a sequence with Abhimanyu and they were on a look-out for someone to play his wife. The only condition was she should be a classical dancer."
"Gufi Paintal who played Shakuni and was also one of the production designers approached me to play this character because I had done good work in Marathi movies and was also a good dancer. It was as if it was all destined and I had no reason to turn them down. More than me, my parents were very excited," shared the actor.
Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain actor Rohitashv Gour is missing work and his set life. In a statement, the actor said, "I miss my amazing friendly team and the camera. I am also missing the word ‘action’ which I have been connected with for almost 12 hours every day, since the last 15 years. I also miss my busy schedule."

The recent YouTube and TikTok controversy escalataed after popular creator CarryMinati uploaded a video dissing TikToker Amir Siddqiui. However, the video was removed for violating terms of service.
Popular actor Mukesh Khanna has now taken a stand in support of the YouTuber. In a video, he said, "I support CarryMinati in this matter. His video was taken down from YouTube which I feel is not fair. If one has to take videos down, they should also get rid of so many objectionable vidoes that are already available on the platform. However, I would also like to advise CarryMinati to choose his words and statements carefully. One shouldn't use words that could hurt other people's sentiments. His fans support and love him and hence he should be careful. Many a times, one might not be wrong but their words can be taken otherwise."

Former Bigg Boss contestants Vikas Gupta and Rohan Mehra recently bumped into each other while doing their grocery shopping. The two recently worked together in Class of 2020.
Mehra posted a photo on his Instagram story where he shared that he met Gupta at a nearby store. Both the television personalities were following complete precaution- wearing masks and gloves during their outing.
Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actor Shivangi Joshi is celebrating her birthday today. Her show's producer Rajan Shahi took to Instagram to wish his leading lady with a heartwarming message.

Most of the times I have seen that lots of money is lying in the bank accounts when people pass away...See to it that no body passes away because their money was lying in your bank a/c when they needed it the most.."
Majethia added, "Money is very powerful when In use n only numbers when lying idle.. Let no one go through the struggle of fighting for their own earned money. There are enough agony around for all. Please pay people on time...if possible before time.. Need of the hour is be responsible and fair."

Actor Nia Sharma took to Instagram to share her concerns over the non-payment issue. She wrote, "Not that I knew him, but the news about his suicide owing to his financial crisis is disturbing! (Needless to mention Migrants’ plight in the news everyday) Now, was he the only one going through it? No! Every living being is. I know many of my friends(Actors) that haven’t been paid since last year or more with rents and EMIs mounting, work this year clearly being halted indefinitely, everyone’s losing patience somewhere."
While thanking the producers for creating jobs, she also asked them to clear bills. "I know, Producers have bigger risks and problems to deal with .. no clarity on the industry resuming Work any soon ,but still keeping up with the salaries of their huge staff , I totally respect that! Infact would thank them for generating thousands of jobs for us through the years, I could make a better life here. On that note, I’d just like to make a humble request on behalf of my fellow actors/ friends, other daily wagers that their dues be paid asap especially at a time when they need it the most so that we’re not waking up to more such Suicide Stories a few days or a month later!! I wish to be financially so strong one day that I myself could help people around. I rest my note," she added.
