Covid-19: Five test positive in Himachal Pradesh after returning from Mumbai

SHIMLA: Five positive cases of coronavirus (Covid-19) were reported from Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh on Monday while one positive patient from same the district tested negative after treatment. All of them had returned from Mumbai recently. With this, number of total number of positive cases reached 85 in the state while number of active cases has reached 37.
A 60year-old asymptomatic male from Chowki Rajputan village of Nohngi panchayat in Nadaun sub division who had returned from Mumbai on May 12 and was in institutional quarantine at Government Primary School Buni has been tested positive.
A 47 year old male from Khungal village of Galor tehsil who had returned from Mumbai on May and was in institutional quarantine at Government Senior Secondary School Kashmir along with his wife and three children was tested positive.
A 54 year old asymptomatic male, who is a taxi driver, of Gawardu village of Tauni Devi area who had also returned from Mumbai on May 10 and was in home quarantine has been tested positive.
A 50 year asymptomatic female from Rehru Padhar village of Tauni Devi area who had returned from Mumbai on May 14 in her own vehicle along with her 20 years old relative and were in institutional quarantine have been tested positive.
Their samples were taken on Saturday and results were received on Monday afternoon. Meanwhile, one Corona positive person from Hamirpur has recovered. Administration has also started the process of tracing their primary and secondary contacts and the areas from where positive cases have been reported are being sealed.
Of the total 85 persons tested positive so far, 41 have recovered, four persons have migrated out of state, three have died while 37 cases are active. Of the total active cases, Kangra district has maximum14 cases, Hamirpur 11, Bilaspur and Chamba 4 cases each while Una and Sirmaur have two cases each.
In the state total 31361 persons were put under surveillance till Monday, of them 9185 have completed 28 days of surveillance and 22176 are under active surveillance. Total 18118 persons have been tested for Corona virus of which 17530 have been tested negative, 85 have been tested positive while results of 503 samples are awaited.
