Greater Fall River high school senior athletes have been robbed of their final scholastic athletic seasons by the COVID-19 crisis. So, unable to write about their accomplishments on the fields, courts and tracks, The Herald News in upcoming weeks will profile some of these smart, pleasant and cooperative 12th graders in the long-awaited return of our Meet the Athlete question & answer. NAME: Kirk Rowe
SCHOOL/YEAR OF GRADUATION: 2020

Injured during the winter track season, Rowe worked hard to rehab for what he planned to be a big spring track and field season. His best event is the 100 meters. Durfee coach Corey Sleep said Rowe is a great captain and a leader by example who "surely" would have led the Hilltoppers in points scored.
Herald News: What person, living or dead, do you most admire and why?
Kirk Rowe: The person I admire the most is my mother because even though we may not see eye to eye on certain things she works her hardest to make sure that I’m well taken care of.
HN: Who is your favorite athlete and why?
KR: My favorite athlete is Usain Bolt, because he's hard working and unbothered. He knows when to have fun and when to work even while under the scope of the world and the pressure to be the best.
HN: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
KR: In 10 years I see myself working and trying my hardest to give back to my family who worked tirelessly to give me opportunities to succeed.
HN: What has been your biggest moment as a high school athlete?
KR: My biggest moment as a high school athlete would be becoming the captain of my track team.
HN: What has it been like losing your final high school sports season?
KR: It's been hard, because all the work I've had since middle school has been wasted. I had truly felt like this was going to be my season, put on a show and win at least a medal are two.
HN: What is your level of concern/fear over COVID-19?
KR: I mean I’m not really concerned. I have confidence in our leaders to get us through this time of uncertainty, but hopefully this situation can be wrapped up quickly.
HN: When not playing high school sports, how do you spend your spare time?
KR: I usually spend my spare time hanging out with friends, watching movies and just being active.
HN: How do you hope to be remembered as a student-athlete?
KR: I hope to be remembered as an athlete who always put the same amount of work in the classroom as I did on the track.
HN: What is your favorite subject in school and why?
KR: My favorite subject in school would be math because I enjoy putting numbers together to get different outcomes.
HN: If you won a million dollars, what would be your first purchase?
KR: If I won a million dollars my first purchase would be to pay for my college.
HN: Tell us something most people don't know about you.
KR: I only sleep on the right side of my bed.
HN: What is your favorite dinner meal?
KR: Anything with pasta involved.
HN: Favorite dessert?
KR: Strawberry Cheesecake
HN: What is your favorite book?
KR: The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
HN: What is your favorite TV show?
KR: My favorite TV show would be Shadow Hunters: the mortal Instruments
HN: How long could you function without your smart phone?
KR: Probably a day or two.
HN: Mustard or ketchup?
KR: Ketchup.
HN: Whom in this world would you most like to hit in the face with a pie?
KR: Tom Holland.
