Online window to fill 69,000 posts of UP assistant teachers opens today

LUCKNOW: The UP exam controller, Uttar Pradesh govt is opening window for application registration for the candidates, who have qualified the Assistant Teacher Recruitment Test (ATRE) for appointment of teachers in primary schools in Uttar Pradesh.
The last day for online registrations will be 12 midnight on May 26, 2020.
Post the announcement of ATRE results on Tuesday, special secretary (basic education) Anand Kumar Singh issued an order on Wednesday releasing the time-table for the recruitment process. Accordingly, the advertisement inviting applications is to be published on May 17. The online application process will begin on May 18 and end on May 26.
After scrutiny of applications received online and due processing, the list will be downloaded. This will take place from May 27 to May 31. As per the order, appointment letters to be given to candidates after due counselling process from between June 3 to June 6.
On Wednesday, the link to the ATRE results were also uploaded on the website, atrexam.upsdc.gov.in for the candidates. After online applications, the basic education department will prepare a merit list based on educational qualification (high school, intermediate, undergraduate and BTC training) and performance in ATRE.
The state government order for the 69,000 vacant posts of assistant teachers in primary schools, was issued on December 1, 2018 while the post was advertised on December 6, 2018. A day after the examination on January 7, 2019 the passing criteria was revised making 65% (97 out of 150 marks) from earlier 45% for general candidates and 60% (90 out of 150 marks) from earlier 40% for reserved category candidates. This led to shikshamitras’ (para teachers) filing a petition in high court. On May 6 2020, the Lucknow bench of Allahabad high court upheld the state government’s decision to raise the cut off, and set the ball rolling for recruitment of 69,000 assistant teachers in the state.
