NEW DELHI: India's premier institute
AIIMS is likely to resume non-emergency services this week, around two months after it curtailed all elective surgeries due to the rising
Covid-19 cases. “Discussions are on to look into the modalities to resume non-emergency OPD services,” said Dr
DK Sharma, medical superintendent, AIIMS.
There are two views either to “start the services in a phased wise manner like 4-5 specialties in the beginning and keep adding to it or start all OPDs altogether. The decision is likely to be taken soon,” added another doctor.
While Covid-19 patients are in the adjoining building of
AIIMS trauma centre, patients from the trauma centre have been shifted to the main building.
