Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has given relief to MNREGA workers today in the last installment of the special economic package announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced an additional allocation of Rs 40,000 crore for MNREGA in a press conference held on Sunday in this regard.


Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman made such an announcement, saying that this would help migrant workers returning to rural areas to work, as well as help boost the rural economy.

In the final installment of the Rs 20 lakh crore economic package, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced seven major steps. He has also made major announcements regarding MNREGA, health and education facilities in rural and urban areas, Corona-affected businesses, legalization of the Companies Act, Ease of Doing Business and Public Sector Enterprise. The Narendra Modi government of the Center had made a provision of 61 thousand crores under the MNREGA in the first budget itself.
