KALYAN: The opposition party leaders like MNS MLA Pramod (Raju) Patil and BJP MP Kapil Patil have raised questions on the construction of 21 kilometres long six-lane Bhiwandi-Kalyan-Shilphata road work blaming contractor of taking advantage of lockdown for making the road using inferior quality materials.
Both leaders have complained the same to Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) demanding to check the quality of road work and also to take action against the responsible person.
MLA Raju Patil has written complaint to chief executive engineer of MSRDC Radheshyam Mopalwar and demanded probe into the quality of work.
In complaint, the MNS MLA has claimed that Bhiwandi-Kalyan-Shilphata road is one of the crucial road in Thane district as it connects Bhiwandi, Kalyan, Ulhasnagar, Ambernath with Navi Mumbai. He said, when work of road started during lockdown he hoped that it would be of better quality and would get ready till the end of lockdown for public use in absence of vehicular traffic.
However, the MLA has said, “He has come to know that road quality is of very low quality and substandard material is being used. He demanded that MSRDC should check quality of the road and should take action against the responsible person.
Meanwhile, on Friday, BJP MP Kapil Patil have also made the similar allegations, saying the road has developed several cracks and he has complained the matter to the senior official of MSRDC demanding action against the responsible contractor.
