FDI limit in defence manufacturing under automatic route raised from 49% to 74%: FM Nirmala Sitharaman

Union Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the government will enhance self reliance in defence production with a separate budget provisioning for domestic capital procurement. FM said, 'We will emphasise on the realistic sitting of qualitative requirements. Foreign Direct Investment limit in defence manufacturing under automatic route is being raised from 49% to 74%.' Union Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the fourth tranche of measures of the government's 'Atmanirbhar Abhiyan', with a view to revive the Indian economy. The tranche was a part of Rs 20 lakh crore special economic package announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
