Garmin Forerunner 45 promises to make running an even more exhilarating experience. The smartwatch comes with a wide variety of upgraded and augmented features. From experiencing fuss free running with easy monitoring at your wrist to tracking your pace and distance and VO2 levels in your body, this watch fulfils mostly all requirements of an Indian runner. Priced at Rs.19,990 Is it really worth it?
What's in it?
The device has all the key features a runner would probably want. There is a built-in GPS, heart monitor, VO2 max as well as incident detection. The updated Garmin Coach 2.0 is another feature of Forerunner 45. It's like your personal running coach. You can choose your expert coach and your 5K, 10K or half marathon race goal. A free adaptive training plan and step-by-step guidance will be given to you for your workouts which can be aligned with your goals.
What's Great
Feature Rich
For a runner it has it all. The in-built GPS, heart monitor, VO2 max and incident detection are absolutely great features.
Safety feature
The incident detection feature which sends your real-time location to your
emergency contacts. It also facilitates live tracking and allows family and friends to follow your progress. It's a great feature especially for those running marathons.
Body Battery
The Body Battery energy monitoring feature uses collected data to analyze your energy reserves at
any moment, so you can plan your day accordingly and optimize time for activity and rest
appropriately.
Light Weight
The Forerunner 45 is lightweight weighing between 32-36g.
What's Not Great
Design
Though it has a color display, I wish Garmin added something more to the design. Looks Wise it's very basic plus it has a lot of plastic for a watch costing almost 20,000
No Third Party app support
This is a limitation. A lot of users do want third party app support
Last Word
Garmin Forerunner 45 is a brilliant smart watch especially designed for those who love marathons and want good tracking as well as a coach. I do wish they added more to the design. The pricing at under 20,000 is kind of worth it if you are a runner.
