Green fund to be used to create jobs

NEW DELHI: The Centre will use Rs 6,000 crore from its compensatory afforestation fund to create jobs through multiple activities, including increasing green cover by plantation in urban areas.
Other activities which will be taken up under this plan include afforestation, forest management, soil & moisture conservation work and wildlife related infrastructure development. “This will create job opportunities in urban, semi-urban and rural areas and also for tribals,” the finance minister said.
