Ramgarh: Authorities in Ramgarh district have rolled out a mobile swab sample collection facility to speed up testing for Covid-19 for migrants returning from various parts of the country. Ramgarh, a green zone, is one of the nine districts in the state without a single coronavirus case.
DC Sandeep Singh on Thursday said the facility, launched with the help of Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (PVUNL), will help the authorities speed up testing at quarantine centres set up in different rural pockets and transit points. He said, “We will use this mobile facility on a roster basis depending on our day-to-day needs.”
Y Devashish, manager (human resource) of PVUNL, said, “We have converted a special ambulance with necessary Covid-19 sample collection equipment and handed it over to the district authorities on Wednesday following their request. We are committed to work with the administration to combat the virus.”
Ramgarh civil surgeon Dr Neelam Chaudhary said PVUNL, a joint venture of NTPC and Patratu Thermal Power Station, has also provided a ventilator and six-bed air-conditioned isolation wards in steel containers among others.
