The leopard was first sighted on Thursday morning. Three teams of the forest department, zoo and the local police are working in shifts to trace the animal and safely capture it.
"We have checked all the camera traps but there were no visuals of the leopard. The trap cages will live baits of dogs were also empty," a senior forest official told TOI.
Officials say the leopard might be hiding under the vegetation after getting panicked or could have escaped after jumping over the boundary wall which is about 6 to 7 feet. Meanwhile, the news that the big cat is yet to be caught is creating panic among the locals in the area.
