Representative imageTHIRUVANANTHAPURAM: New admission of students in schools in the state would begin on Monday, chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan said on Thursday.
“People may reach schools and take admissions from this Monday. While doing so, they are supposed to adhere strictly to the restrictions already in place in connection with the Covid-19 pandemic. The government is also readying arrangements for online mechanism for securing admissions online. Facilities for the same would be made by KITE,” Vijayan said.
Meanwhile, the government would arrange special training facilities for Class X, XI and XII students belonging to marginalised sections. Since a large chunk of students belonging to marginalised sections are not able to access online classes introduced for students, the government would put in place special arrangements for them, the chief minister said.
The government has earlier announced that online classes in schools would start on June 1.
“For those who have little access to online facilities, the government would set up 200 special training centres. SC/ ST students, those from hilly and coastal areas would benefit from the special arrangements. The training programmes would be organised through local Prathibha Kendras and Ooru Vidya Kendras,” the chief minister said.
