Rapist admits murdering missing man, soliciting shooting of partner in court

A serial rapist has finally confessed to organising the attempted shooting murder of his partner as she headed into a NSW courtroom to testify against him.

Jennifer Forgacs, then 24, survived with serious injuries after another man followed her into Wyong Local Court and opened fire on her on November 21, 1995.

"Guilty, thank you," he told NSW Supreme Court Justice Elizabeth Fullerton.

Sales also confessed on Friday to the murder of Ronald Richard Penn, a 61-year- old Central Coast man who went missing in October 1995.

Mr Penn's white Mazda van was found burnt-out in bushland in Berkeley Vale on October 27 - three days after his last confirmed sighting.

Mr Penn only had a few clothes and personal belongings with him when he vanished.

His bank accounts also lay dormant and his driver's licence was never renewed, investigators said in 2015.

Sales admitted murdering Mr Penn at The Entrance North between October 23 and October 28.

He is already serving a 31-year minimum term for his long history of horrifying and sadistic abuse against traumatised women and children.

Sales will return to court in July for a disputed facts hearing.
