Sundowns veteran wants chance to fight for sixth title

Tebogo Langerman admits he would be "bitterly disappointed" if the 2019/20 Premier Soccer League season was abandoned as he eyes a potential six title.

The 32-year-old Mamelodi Sundowns defender has claimed one league championship with SuperSport and four with Sundowns.

The Brazilians entered the enforced break as a result of the coronavirus in second place on the PSL standings, just four points behind leaders Kaizer Chiefs and having played a game less.

Langerman, who has also won the Telkom Knockout and Nedbank Cup twice, the CAF Champions League and CAF Super Cup, told the TimesLIVE: "I will be bitterly disappointed if this season is not completed because of the coronavirus (Covid-19) and I don’t get the opportunity to fight for the sixth one.

"As a team, we have the belief that we can win this title because we were beginning to find some consistency before the season was suspended.

"There was a strong feeling among the players because we know that in the last few matches of the season we can go all out."

The former Bidvest player added that he is also eager to add the MTN8 cup to his trophy haul.

"I still want to win things‚ go back to the FIFA Club World Cup because it was an amazing experience," he said.

"The other big one for me is the MTN8 because that is the only medal that I don't have.

"The sixth league medal is also important to add to the two Telkom Knockout and Nedbank Cup medals‚ and also to the Champions League and the Super Cup."
