Haryana: 262 passengers board 19 inter-district buses as Haryana Roadways resumes partial operations

CHANDIGARH: As many as 262 passengers travelled on 19 inter-district buses of Haryana Roadways buses which operated under special care on Friday.
The Haryana Roadways had released the list of 29 bus routes where the government would be running the inter-district buses. According to information, all the buses were sanitized before and after reaching the destination.
Official informed that the 29 bus routes include 10 long-distance buses which will return on the next day. Hence, on Saturday, all the 29 routes will be operational.
Principal secretary and fInancial commissioner, transport, Anurag Rastogi said that passengers boarding the buses had undergone through thermal scanning before entering the bus terminus.
"As on now, we shall be running these buses in these 10 districts. As the situation improves, we shall press more buses in service. But the response of passengers was satisfactory. Our staff had taken adequate precautions and all the operations were monitored by senior officers of the department," said Rastogi.
Notably, on Wednesday, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar had announced to start inter-district operations of Haryana Roadways. This was in consequent to advisory by the Union government about easing out or resuming certain services in the areas out of red zones or containment zones.
Haryana government had completed closed down its operations since March 22. The buses were used for ferrying medical teams as well as staff of various districts. While government had used buses for shifting the migrant laborers to their home states.
