Lucknow: Storm, rain bring respite from heat

LUCKNOW: A dust storm followed by light intermittent rain lashed the city on Wednesday.
This was the fifth dust storm in the city in last 12 days providing temporary relief to residents from hot and humid conditions.
Weather is likely to remain clear during the day on Thursday and may be partly cloudy in the evening.
Met department officials said rain and dust storm are likely in isolated parts of the state in next 2-3 days due to southeasterly winds and western disturbances. Sky will be clear thereafter.
The day began with bright sunshine on Wednesday and was followed by high temperature in the afternoon. Light rain and dust storm for a short duration in the evening made weather pleasant. Maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 38.3 degrees Celsius (1.2 degrees below normal) and 26 degrees Celsius.
Met director JP Gupta said, “Dust storm and rain are expected in parts of west UP. In Lucknow, sky will be partly cloudy with maximum and minimum temperatures around 38 and 25 degrees Celsius, respectively.”
