Punjab: Illicit liquor manufacturing unit busted in Rajpura

PATIALA: The Patiala excise officials in Punjab and the district police on Thursday busted an illegal liquor manufacturing unit running in an abandoned cold store near Rajpura.
During the raid, the police recovered illicit liquor of different brands like Royal stag, Masti Malta Lajawab Sofia, Raseela Sandra and others.
The teams also recovered bottling-machinery, empty bottles, about 35 drums, holograms, labels of different brands, packing boxes caps and other packing material.
While the case was registered against six individuals, one person was caught on the spot. Patiala police said an FIR no 54 under Sections 420,467,471,188,269 IPC and Sections 61/1/14 of the Excise Act, Section 5 of Disaster Management Act 2005 was registered at Shambu Police station against Dipesh Kumar, a resident of Rajpura, Harpreet Singh, a resident of Thuhha village, Amrik Singh, a resident of Khanpur Khurdh, Bacchi, a resident of unknown, Amit Kumar, a resident of UP and the owner of the cold store who is yet to be identified.
