While most people started their lockdown diving straight into hobbies they had been putting on the backburner for the longest time, moms did not have that luxury. With schools shut and no 'real' support, they had to roll up their sleeves and play multiple roles all day long - being a mommy, chef, teacher, cleaner, as well as a professional (if she is a working mom). So where do they get their break amidst this overwhelming burden of duties? Well a new study has an answer.
According to a survey called The Digital Usage of the Indian Moms, mothers are spending close to 2-3 hours every day on the Internet, that too without compromising on their motherly duties. Moms who participated in this study had young kids (under 12 years).
Close to 36 per cent moms said that lockdown made them discover Instagram as an exciting platform where they are discovering new products as well as services. 23 per cent moms said they relied on Google for parenting tips and 30 per cent said they spend time shopping online.
Among the most popular apps, WhatsApp remained the clear winner with Instagram closely following the lead.
As per the survey results, 55% of moms said they are less likely to share anything on social media. 32% moms believe their favourite parenting platform should be an app, while 22% said it should be social media and 18% said it must be a website.
