Representative imagePUNE: The Kondhwa police on Tuesday raided a beef shop and the residence of its owner at Meethanagar for illegally selling gutka and tobacco to customers during the lockdown.
Police have seized gutka and tobacco, collectively worth Rs1,98,736 from the man’s possession. An FIR under the relevant sections of the Essential Commodities Act, Weights and Measurement Act and Indian Penal Code was lodged against the suspect and three others. Constable Vikram Patil on Monday night received a tip-off that the suspect was selling gutka and tobacco from his beef shop and residence at a higher price.
