From the stunning all-white bedroom to Anand Ahuja's special sneaker closet, here's every corner you need to check out from the home where the couple is quarantining
Sonam Kapoor Ahuja recently surprised her Instagram community with sneak peeks into her luxurious Delhi home, where she is currently quarantining with husband Anand Ahuja. Titled ‘Snapshots of Quarantine’, the actor posted a series of pictures that gave us a glimpse of everything from the couple's gorgeous bedroom, to their kitchen, study, and even the shoe corner that houses Ahuja's wide sneaker collection. Situated in New Delhi's Golf Links neighbourhood, the residence, which happens to be Ahuja's childhood home, also became home to Kapoor Ahuja post their wedding in 2018. Take the tour below.
Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Anand Ahuja's bedroom is a vision in white
A large four poster bed with white linen curtains and matching white bedding gives us a strong hint about what may be the actor's favourite colour. The monochromatic palette of Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Anand Ahuja's bed contrasts elegantly with their wooden mosaic flooring, and the black peripheral panel of their bed. Matching the aesthetic of this space, Kapoor was recently seen wearing black and white pinstripe pyjamas and reading a copy of the Gita on her comfy bed, while Ahuja appeared to be reading something on his iPad.
Bringing lots of natural light into the couple's room are the floor-to-ceiling windows that take over one corner of space, opening out to the Ahujas' vast lawns.
The study: A minimalistic space with plenty of books
Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Anand Ahuja's study seems to be one of those spaces that instantly lift your mood. The expansive room brings together shades of white and brown, telling us that it may well be an extension of the couple's bedroom itself. This space doesn't just boast an envy-worthy collection of abstract art, it's also home to some of the duo's favourite reads: Awakening by GR Santosh, India's Great Masters by Raghu Rai, and The Mahabharata Quest by Christopher Doyle. We also spotted a copy of the book The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air which was gifted to Anand by Will Smith himself.
Move further into the study and you'll also spot massive windows, similar to the ones in Sonam Kapoor Ahuja's bedroom, next to which sits Anand Ahuja's work desk. When it's time to take a break, Anand can wind down on the comfy lounge chair (which comes with a matching footstool) clad in subtle beige upholstery. Scroll through this little album, and you'll also get a chance to check out hiss shoe closet. The sneaker head is the proud of owner of quite a collection of kicks, all stored neatly in white storage spaces.
The Ahuja family's living room is grand and elegant
Back in February 2020, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja surprised mother-in-law Priya Ahuja with scrumptious chocolate cakes, and the latter's Instagram post shared a rare peek into the Ahuja family's living room. Much like the bedrooms, this part of the home also features a monochrome palette, this time in soothing shades of cream. Earthy cane couches bring a rustic touch to the space, while a woven carpet sits on glossy marble floors that create a geometric pattern in ivory, cream and brown. The rhythm is only interrupted by the various objets d'art in the space, which include a decorative centrepiece bouquet which may also have been part of the Mother's Day surprise, and massive paintings on the walls, one of which depicts the face of Buddha, unmissable under a series of warm yellow spotlights.
Sonam Kapoor Ahuja's kitchen boasts a sleek, modern aesthetic
A break from the aesthetics of the bedroom and the living room, the kitchen takes on a more modern vibe with clean lines and a sleek aesthetic. Think frosted glass shelves, warm brown cabinets, and granite counters in shades of chestnut and black. Large windows, once again, help light up the spacious cooking area, and white walls open up the space further.
The open kitchen plan seems to be giving Kapoor Ahuja plenty of room to revisit one of her top hobbies—cooking. “I love cooking usually for pleasure, however cooking out of necessity hasn't taken the pleasure out of it but enhanced it because I see everyone enjoying the food,” she recently told Vogue India. Not so long ago, Kapoor Ahuja was also seen in her kitchen whipping up a chocolate walnut cake.
Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja's Delhi mansion comes with an expansive lawn
Who would miss the outdoors if they have a garden like the Ahujas'? A vast block of green, the couple's backyard features evenly spread palm trees that give it the space a holiday home vibe, allowing them to cut off from the busy city. Ahuja was recently captured in the midst of what seemed like an intense workout here—pulling off a handstand, skipping rope, and doing yoga with brother Anant Ahuja. The exterior of the couple's house even houses a basketball court where the Ahuja brothers spend a lot of their free time.
