29 fresh Covid-19 cases reported in Surat; seven discharged

SURAT: 29 new Covid-19 cases were reported in Surat city on Tuesday taking the total number of cases to 927. A 54-year-old Vishnu Patel, a resident of Bhatar area in the city succumbed to the virus on Tuesday taking the total death toll due to Covid-19 in city to 39.
Fresh Covid-19 cases continues to emerge in Limbayat zone. On Tuesday, nine more cases were reported from this zone. Total 261 cases are reported from this zone alone.
Meanwhile, seven Covid-19 patients were discharged on Tuesday. "Total 535 Covid-19 patients have been discharged till Tuesday which makes 57.7 percent recovery rate of the Surat city," Banchhanidhi Pani, municipal commissioner, Surat, said.
"Those people coming into Surat city from outside will have to adhere all the existing guidelines home quarantined and they will have to download SMC Covid-19 Tracker App and need to fill up necessary details in it," Pani said.
"If anyone found hiding health details, SMC will take actions against the violators and would file police complaint as well," Pani added.
According to Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) officials, over 3000 people have arrived in Surat city from outside.
"I request to presidents of all residential societies to remain vigilant and inform to civic body’s toll free number if any of their residents found violating home quarantined rules," Pani added.
